We have 90+ acres here at the Home of Rest for Old Horses and to ensure that the grassland areas are kept in the best condition for our horses, we rotate the grazing throughout the year. During the winter months, it is essential that the horses have a good supply of hay. On average we spend £11,000 per year on hay, with each bale costing £33.
